Djillali Liabes University, Sidi Bel Abbes

  Djillali Liabes University was created on August 1, 1989 by decree no. 89-41 of 08/01/1989 and was modified and supplemented by executive decree no. 95-208 of 05/08/1995.

  The University of Sidi Bel Abbès obtained university status in 1989 after having been a university center having started its activities in 1978. The university has different branches distributed in a ring around the city.

Currently, the university has nine faculties, one institute and fifty-seven research laboratories accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The number of university employees is currently estimated at approximately 2,265 employees, including contract and permanent employees.
The university is recognized for the quality and efficiency of its professors, estimated at approximately 1875, who provide courses in various fields to approximately 29629 students.
